Oshiomole increases minimum wage to N25,000

Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, has announced that salaries of workers in the state civil service will be increased. The increment, which will see the minimum wage rise from N18,000 to N25,000, is expected to be with immediate effect.

Governor Oshiomhole made this announcement during his address to workers during the 2016 May Day celebrations at the Samuel Ogbemidua Stadium in Benin City, the state capital.

He also promised that outstanding arrears to civil servants particularly staff of Egor Local Government Area will be paid within two weeks.

The union leaders in the state among other requests called on the Governor to rescind his decision to scrap the state pensions board.
