Fire guts Shopping Complex in Bauchi

A huge fire at the Police Officers Wives' Association (POWA) Shopping Comolex razed down several shops and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. The shopping complex is located at Yelwa, a sub-urb of Bauchi Metropolis.

Fire fighters from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Federal Polytechnic and Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, were seen trying to put out the fire, which was caused by explosion of gas cylinders. 

A combined team of security agents comprising of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Civil Defense, Customs Service, were also at the scene protecting valuables from vandals while hundreds of sympathizers looked on.
