Wayne Rooney ruled out for six weeks with Knee injury

Manchester and England player Wayne Rooney, is expected to be out of action for between six weeks and two months after damaging knee ligaments in Manchester United's defeat by Sunderland last weekend.

The news is a blow to United who landed in Denmark to face Midyjtlland on Wednesday without their captain and 14-goal top scorer. Rooney will miss both legs of the Europa League tie, Monday’s FA Cup trip to Shrewsbury and up to nine Premier League games as Louis van Gaal’s side struggle to finish in the top-six.
