Disgraced former Sunderland and Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has been sentenced to six years in jail on Thursday.
Johnson was found guilty of grooming and sexual activity with a child.
He was convicted over two weeks ago but was given a few weeks by the Judge to spend time with his young daughter.
A prison term of up to 10 years was expected with many suspecting the former Sunderland winger would get a full decade in jail due to the severity of the offences.
Johnson has also been stripped of his England caps as a result of the conviction. Sunderland sacked Johnson once their former player announced he was guilty.
