Nigeria to build economy with agriculture - Buhari

Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari has asked Nigerians to join hands with his administration in making sure that agriculture becomes the mainstay of the country's economy.

He was speaking on Monday while declaring open the 8th Bola Tinubu colloquium at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. He said this had become necessary due falling price of crude.

The President said: “we must produce what we eat." He reiterated his government's resolve to prioritize agriculture so as to ensure that the country is sufficient in the production of rice, wheat among other crops.

President Buhari also encouraged investors to commit to agricultural production and support the plans of his government.
