President Obama makes historic visit to Cuba

President Obama and his family landed in Cuba Sunday afternoon, he becomes the first siting President to visit the country since 1928. 

It was a wet afternoon as he disembarked Air Force One. President Obama held an umbrella over his wife Michelle and greeted several senior Cuban officials. 

The Obamas, including the president’s two daughters and his mother-in-law, were welcomed on the tarmac by Bruno Rodriguez, Cuba’s Foreign Minister and Josefina Vidal, the head of the U.S. section of Cuba’s Foreign Ministry, as well as Jeffrey DeLaurentis, the senior U.S. diplomat in Cuba.

 The official welcoming session will be held on Monday when President Obama will meet with Cuban president Raúl Castro.

He is in Cuba on a two day visit. On arriving Cuba, the president sent out a tweet below:
