CAF CL: Warri Wolves qualify for next round

Nigeria’s representatives in the 2015/2016 Confederation of African Football Champions League, Warri Wolves FC, has progressed to the next round of the tournament.

The seas-siders progressed after their opponents Sao Tomean club Club de Sporting de Praia Cruz failed to show up at the Warri City Stadium for the first leg of the preliminary round of Africa’s premier club competition.

The match officials Daniel Nii Laryea, David Nelson Agyin and Paul Atimaka, all from Ghana therefore awarded the game to the home side after 15 minutes.

Praia Cruz had been silent on their arrival and itinerary, until late on Saturday, when news filtered in that the club’s entourage would be arriving around noon on Sunday.

Wolves will now play Sudanese champions Al-Merreikh in the first round of the competition in March.
