Rat found on Air India plane
Air India's flight to London was forced to return to Mumbai, India, after passengers spotted a rat on board.
The rat was never found, the pilot had to turn around, three hours into the flight, keeping the passengers safety in mind. Passengers were later flown on another aircraft to London. About 200 passengers were on board.
An official of the airline said,"The aircraft suspected of rat infestation would be fumigated and checked before it is returned to service. Maintenance workers would have to make sure that the rat did not damage equipment or chew any wires and the plane is certified to be rodent-free."

More arrests made in connection to Brussels attack
The Belgians officials say six more people have been brought in for questioning and seven searches carried out in connection with a suspected plot to stage extremist attacks over the holidays.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office said Thursday the police searches were executed in the morning in various Brussels-area locations. It said a magistrate will decide whether arrest warrants should be issued against six people brought in for questioning.

The Federal Government of Nigeria declares, January 1 as public holiday
The Federal Government of Nigeria, has declared Friday, January 1, 2016 as public holiday to mark the New Year celebration.
The announcement was in a statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd), on behalf of the Federal Government. He urged all Nigerians to continue to promote the unity of the country in its progress towards building a nation devoid of rancour and bitterness.
