The Father Emir of Qatar, broke his leg while on holiday in Morocco and was flown to Switzerland for an emergency surgery over the weekend, according to a statement from the governtment. About 9 planes from the Qatari Royal family, made an emergency landing. The Qatari government communications office, issued the statement below:
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who is 63 years, had been on vacation at a resort in the Atlas mountains, in Morocco. His Son Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad tweeted about his fathers health and thanked everyone for their concern.
We wish Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani a speedy recovery.
