Workers send 271million dollars annually home.

Workers in the UAE send about 100 billion dirhams yearly, that is about 271 million dollars. This is according to the money transfer from Xpress money company. The market for remittances is growing in the Middle East as the work force comprises of a lot of expatriates, from different parts of the world.

The majority of the remittances comes from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and from the Philippines. Workers send about 80% of their income back to their home countries.
