Rat found on Air India plane

Air India's flight to London was forced to return to Mumbai, India, after passengers spotted a rat on board.

The rat was never found, the pilot had to turn around, three hours into the flight, keeping the passengers safety in mind. Passengers were later flown on another aircraft to London. About 200 passengers were on board.

An official of the airline said,"The aircraft suspected of rat infestation would be fumigated and checked before it is returned to service. Maintenance workers would have to make sure that the rat did not damage equipment or chew any wires and the plane is certified to be rodent-free."
