Minimum wage will not reduce- Yobe State Gov

Ibrahim Geidam, Governor of Yobe State

Ibrahim Geidam, Governor of Yobe State has poured cold water on the rumours that the government intends to reduce the minimum wage of its employees. He said the government will continue to fulfil its responsibilities to its workers and hence will ensure it continues to pay the N18,000 salary.
In a statement by his media aide, Abdullahi Bego, he said "I am surprised that some people are talking about reducing the minimum wage paid to workers. Paying workers their salary at the end of the month is a primary responsibility that we must take very seriously. It is also a constitutional matter."
He added that the government has tried to prioritize and plan and this meant that salaries have been paid regularly and other projects will continue to be executed. He said the state has maintained financial discipline and this has enabled her to meet her financial obligations.
He asked the workers in the state to continue to support the policies of the government.
