Sarah Palin's son arrested for domestic violence

Sarah Palin's child has been arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend in the face.

Track Palin, 26, has also been charged with interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime and possessing a weapon while intoxicated.

Sarah Palin is currently in Iowa, supporting Republican front runner Donald Trump for president.

His girlfriend told police she was afraid he was going to shoot himself.

An affidavit indicated that, both Palin and his girlfriend rang the emergency services on Monday night from his parents' home in Wasilla, Alaska.

She claims that Palin then kicked her in the knee and threw her phone across the driveway.

Track Palin also held an AR-15 assault rifle near his face, the document states, shouting: "Do you think I won't do it?"

That prompted his partner to go "up the stairs, where she hid under a bed", the affidavit continues.

Track Palin spent a year in Iraq, deployed with the American Army. He enlisted on the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
