The worrying state of Part-Time programme in YabaTech

Multiple reports indicate that the Part-time students of Yaba college of Technology have not had a fair deal over the past months and years. Students have complained about the frequent changes that have been made on their schedule ad roster.

I believe it is fair that when you inform students they will run a three-month semester programme, that you do not shift the goal post during the match. Semesters now run for several months more. Examination time table and dates have been communicated to students, only for it to be postponed repeatedly. A situation whereby exams meant to hold in March takes place in June is highly unprofessional.

The significance of such changes will definitely be felt by part-time students who support themselves. Students of the school have complained about the effect such uncertainties cause. Those students who have jobs they use to make ends meet and also pay their fees will surely be affected by these kind of never-ending adjustments.

We therefore appeal to the school authorities at Yaba College of Technology to look into the situation and come up with a clear plan and idea on how to arrest this worrying trend.
