Ronaldo sinks Barcelona in El Classico thriller

Barcelona's 39-game unbeaten run was brought to an abrupt end by 10-man Real Madrid after the capital side beat the Spanish and European Champions 2-1 at the Camp Nou.

As expected Barcelona had the majority of the possession but couldn't find a way past Keylor Navas. Suarez was guilty of missing a simple tap in when it was probably easier to score in the first half.

Gerard Pique gave Barcelona the lead through a thumping header but Madrid replied through Karim Benzema who converted with a sweet overhead kick.

Real Madrid then attempted to shoot themselves in the foot after a reckless tackle by Sergio Ramos led to his second  yellow card. Real Madrid were however not going to be denied as Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner thereby ending Barcelona’s unbeaten run in the Spanish La Liga with a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou.

Zinedine Zidane’s team broke on a counter and Gareth Bale crossed a juicy ball for Ronaldo who chested before he finished to give his side the lead. Real Madrid held on after scoring but in truth they never looked like they were going to be pegged back.
