Hiddinks ask his stars to play with heart

Guus Hiddink has suggested that he will not be using the past performances of the players this season to judge them and said he is wiping the slate clean in his analysis of the team he has inherited.

The manager will be in charge of Chelsea for the first time on his second stint with the club when they host Watford on Boxing Day.
He stressed he is not interested in drawing conclusions from anything that happened prior to his arrival at the club and expects them to play with desire. He added, "They are here at a big club. They are well paid. They must have this heart full of desire like an amateur. I don't need players who don't have the desire."

He was impressed with the manner the first assistant team coach, Steve Holland, managed the game against Sunderland. He stated that Holland did a terrific job and he looked forward to working closely with him.
