Miss Columbia 2015 breaks silence

Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, has spoken out after the fallout of the 2015 pageant  on Sunday, December 20 — thanking supporters and accepting her unfortunate fate. 

The 21-year-old beauty queen was momentarily awarded the title of Miss Universe 2015 when host Steve Harvey read the wrong name off the results card, while announcing the winner. 

She posted a message on Instagram thanking everyone for their messages of support and strength.

Steve Harvey has since apologized to Gutierrez via Twitter for his gaffe saying: "I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Columbia and Miss Philipines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible."
