Leicester City moves closer to the title with win at Palace

Leicester City's fairytale run continued with another crucial away win at Crystal Palace. Their rise to top of the log has been nothing short of extraordinary considering that only a year ago they were on the brink of relegation.

City went into the game knowing that a win would take them 11 points clear at the top of the League table with Tottenham playing tomorrow. Palace started brightly with Leicester City happy to sit deep, soak up the pressure and hit their host with their favoured swift counterattack.

Palace had much of the ball but never really threatened to take the lead. Leicester City then took the lead in the 34th minute when Riyad Mahrez finished off a low cross from Jamie Vardy.

Emmanuel Adebayor had a poor first half and Pardew made the decision to take him off at half time. Bakary Sako was brought in as his replacement as Palace searched for an equalizer.

Sako brought in some life into the host and floated some inviting crosses into the box but he was never able to find a teammate.

Leicester City held on with a solid rearguard action. They are now 11 points clear at the top.
