NPFL Week 7 Review: Rangers crush Akwa United to go top

Enugu Rangers moved to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), after they dismantled Akwa United 3-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

Bobby Clement gave Ranger the lead with a 27th minute strike. Tope Olusesi turned home a cross in the 52nd minute, before Chisom Egbuchulam completed the rout in the second half.

Rangers now have 14 points from seven matches.

In the other games of the weekend, MFM FC, lost 1-0 to Heartland at the Dan Anyiam Stadium. Fortune Omoniwari scored the only goal of the encounter.

Wilki Tourists defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, to move to 6th place in the NPFL and Plateau United also saw off Lobi Stars 2-1 at home.

IfeanyiUbah FC lost 2-1 to El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars defeated Rivers United 1-0 at home.
