Europa League: Dortmund knocks out Spurs

German side Borussia Dortmund sealed passage into the quarterfinals of the Europa league after a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane.

Mauricio Pochettino decided to field a relatively strong side following the heavy 3-0 first leg defeat at Germany. Top striker Harry Kane was, however, left on the bench for the start of the game.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang turned what looked like a difficult task for the North London side into an impossible one when he fired in a stunning strike from distance in the 24th minute.

Aubameyang scored his second of the night in the 71st minute.  Spurs did grab a consolation goal three minutes later through Son Heung-min. They lost the tie 5-1 on aggregate and were therefore eliminated from the competition.
