The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, has
declared that the terrorist group, Boko Haram, has been defeated by the
Nigerian Army.
He made this declaration in Port Harcourt during the laying
of the foundation stone for the new Brigade headquarters complex at the 2
Brigade, Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
“The North East operation is critical at this stage. The terrorists
have been defeated; these criminals may rear their ugly head heads through
other means. We will continue to maintain vigilance.”
He assured the soldiers of the 2 brigade of his support
towards their welfare and hailed them for their commitment to duty. He commended
the efforts of the Brigade in the anti-oil theft war.
