Lleyton Hewitt end singles tennis career with a loss

Lleyton Hewitt has ended his singles tennis career with a loss at the Australian Open.

He left the court to a standing ovation. He called his wife, Bec, "his rock" and told the crowd,"I feel honored to have had this support."

Lleyton Hewitt lost to David Ferrer, in straight sets 6-2,6-4,6-4, in the second round of the Australian open.

Hewitt, who collected a total of 30 singles tour titles, won the US Open in 2001 and Wimbledon in 2002 and also helped his home country win the Davis Cup on two occasions - in 1999 and 2003.

We wish him all the best.
