Nigerian players are overage – coach

The coach of Nambia’s female Under-17 team, Melvin Mbakera, has told Brila FM that their Nigerian counterparts, the Flamingoes, are fielding overage players.

He expressed his annoyance in an interview with the Nigerian radio station and described it as unfair on football.

“The game between U-23 players against U-17 players. This is not fair and this is the reason why most countries don’t want to play in the U-17.

“Nigeria’s first goal was brilliant, but their three other goals were as result of our players’ error,” he added.

Namibia will have to overturn a huge deficit after they were four-nil in the first leg of their FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifier in Abuja.
