Roberto Martinez avoids FA sanction

Everton boss Roberto Martinez will be face charges from Football Association after he labeled the refereeing “diabolical” in his side’s 3-3 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Martinez was enraged by the decision to allow John Terry’s dramatic late equaliser after the Chelsea captain scored from an offside position. He was also angered by the fact that the goal came in the eighth minute of injury time, even though only seven minutes was allotted for added time.

He had expressed his displeasure during a post match interview with Sky Sports: “I’m not frustrated. I’m very angry. Top and bottom, we lost this football game because of an horrific decision right at the end. It’s clearly offside and it was over the time of seven minutes. If you look at the time of when we conceded, it’s well over the time. That’s something which is clear cut.”

The FA has however decided Martinez will not be charged because hebdid not question referee Mike Jones’ integrity and was not personal in his criticism. Managers are allowed to express their opinion on decisions and performances by officials.
