Real Madrid demolished Deportivo La Coruna as the Zinedine
Zidane era began with a comprehensive victory.
Deportivo could have spoilt the party if they had converted
an early chance. Keylor Navas saved brilliantly before the Real show began.
Benzema opened the scoring with a back heel.
Gareth Bale then scored the next three goals in the 22nd,
49th and 63rd minute after assist from Carvajal, Ronaldo
and Kroos.
The rout was completed by Benzema who added his second of
the day in stoppage time to give Madrid a 5-0 win. The win sees them close the
gap to two points of Barcelona who top the table, although the World and
European Champions have a game in hand.
