| Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the Liverpool game at Anfield |
Alexis Sanchez will not be fit in time to face Liverpool.
This was disclosed by manager Arsene Wenger who said Arsenal
were trying to be cautious with the Chilean forward in order not aggravate his
hamstring injury.
Speaking at a press conference before the midweek game,
Arsene Wenger said, “We think he will be short for Wednesday, he has a chance
to be available for Sunday against Stoke. He is always keen to play. If you
listen to Alexis, he can always play, even when he is injured.”
“We try to be cautious. With a muscular injury you never
exactly know how big the risk but he is very close. If you look at him
training, he is very close,” he added.
There were also some good news on the injury front as the
Arsenal boss disclosed that Tomas Rosicky will return to full training this
week and was happy that a player of his calibre will be at his disposal again
as Arsenal aim to end their 12-year Premier League title drought.
